The hunting jacket design is a well-trodden path, and much like the trails they were intended for, stray too far and you might get a bit lost, or in peril of misadventure. Our design stays honest to the earliest examples; paired-back, simple – on track.
The design sits between a heavy woollen shirt and jacket, with a mid-weight 'Mackinaw' blanket cloth to match. Cut hip-length and loose through the body, with a single-piece curved "splay" collar and button front. Our design features the distinctive patch-pocket layout, plus a roomy rear 'game-pocket' for any daily essentials.
The cloth, woven for us in the United States, is an authentic Kersey wool found on USN Peacoats and also used on our sm wool is as exactly as it should be; dense, plump and water repellent.
Worn with plaids, denim and boots, it is as intended: rugged, outdoorsy; though, when put with a shirt and tie, and paired with flannels it's as at home in town as it is in the great outdoors.
