A five pocket jean is the great equaliser when it comes to our wardrobes - real wear can’t be faked, the way it moulds to the body and shows its function in every abraded edge and whisker. If you want a perfect pair of jeans, they have to be worn hard, worn continuously, worn until it becomes fundamental to the wardrobe. No matter how much money you have, the only way to get a pair of jeans that is broken in perfectly for you is to put in hours and wear them down.
Making a 5 pocket jean that is flattering for a larger build as well as a slighter one, and that carries a continuous line with a tailored jacket rather than looking like they’ve been painted on, and rather low at that, was our goal in making the 133.
Based on a 1937 vintage, we have given them a generous rise without being fusty, and a wider opening at the cuff to accommodate both a work boot or a classic penny loafer.
Made in Okayama from 13oz denim, they carry our unfinished iron buttons, meant to tarnish and age over time. Without any branding other than the leather patch, the hope is that as our brand fades from that leather, they become completely yours.
